DCS Repair FAQs

Why does my outdoor DCS grill click constantly but refuse to light?

In Houston, this is almost always caused by coastal salt air corrosion. The salt oxidizes the ignition electrodes and corrodes the copper wiring inside the spark module harness. Even though you hear the clicking sound, the electrical resistance from the corrosion prevents the spark from becoming hot enough to ignite the raw gas. We must physically replace the corroded wiring harnesses and oxidized electrodes with factory OEM parts.

Why is my DCS indoor gas range surface clicking randomly when I'm not using it?

Houston’s intense ambient humidity easily infiltrates high-end indoor kitchens. Moisture becomes trapped underneath the caps of the DCS Dual Flow Burners™, saturating the ceramic igniter. The electrical current shorts out through the moisture, causing the spark module to fire continuously—often sounding like a rapid “machine gun” clicking. An appliance engineer must dismantle the surface manifold, dry the electrical paths, and potentially replace the shorted module.

Why does my outdoor grill have cold spots and uneven heating?

DCS utilizes a layer of Ceramic Radiant Technology rods sitting between the burners and the cooking grates to perfectly distribute heat. Over years of enduring 800°F grilling sessions combined with Houston’s heavy humidity, these ceramic rods experience thermal shock and eventually crack or degrade. When the rods crumble, the heat distribution fails, causing massive cold spots on your grill surface.

Can I upgrade my built-in DCS grill to a completely different luxury brand?

Doing so will trigger a massive construction project. Every premium grill brand (like DCS or Lynx) uses radically different chassis dimensions. Because your DCS is flush-mounted into a custom concrete or stone outdoor island, a new brand simply won’t fit into the hole. You will have to pay stone fabricators thousands of dollars to recut your countertops. Having UAR rebuild your DCS burners and valves is the only economical solution.
