My blower won't turn on. What's wrong?
The most common causes are a failed control board, a tripped thermal fuse (often from undersized ductwork causing motor overheating), a worn motor capacitor, a wiring fault at the speed switch, or the motor itself reaching end-of-life. My hood is making noise — humming, whining, or vibrating.

How do I tell if my hood is actually doing its job?
A simple field test: hold a sheet of paper flat against the front edge of the hood while the fan runs on high. If it doesn’t stay in place, your capture is insufficient. Common causes are an undersized blower for the range below it (the 100 CFM per 10,000 BTU rule), a clogged baffle or charcoal filter, grease buildup in the ductwork, or a damper stuck partially closed. What's the makeup air requirement and does my home need it?
